Tom has mentioned submitting work as PDFs. As Adobe's Acrobat full product is a fairly pricy bit of software, have a look on Google for free PDF creation software (http://www.google.com/search?q=free+pdf+maker&sourceid=mozilla-search&start=0&start=0&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8). I must admit to not trying any of these as I've got a full version of Acrobat (can anyone offer any experience based advice?). Tucows offer some more options (http://search.tucows.com/search?search=pdf&platform_id=7%2C1565%2C1584%2C1570%2C1571%2C1725&language_id=1&type=exactany&site_detail_id=653&ref=) as well.

You could use the 30-day trial version of Acrobat (http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobatpro/tryout.html), although it's only practical to download if you have broadband.

If my memory serves me correctly there used to be a facility to create pdf files online somewhere on the Adobe website.

Your memory is correct (http://createpdf.adobe.com/?v=AHP)! Not free, though.

The free open source Open Office (http://www.openoffice.org/) contains a .pdf maker.

Hmm, interesting. Open Office has a PowerPoint type application called IMPRESS that includes the ability to save presentations as Flash .SWF files.

At last! A truly FREE PDF maker. Have a look at http://www.exp-systems.com. There are two versions. The free for personal use "PDF reDIRECT" and there is a "Pro" version for $12.99 which includes a 90-day free trial.

Oh, and BTW, I saw this recommended in the April edition of Internet Magazine :)
