I've come across this site some time ago and it turned out to be very useful. (Especially now as I'm currently without landline) You can use your mobile to call your friends and family abroad via VoIP. They create a local number for your international one which then enables you to use the minutes given to you by your mobile phone provider. You can create an online account that you can top up and the rates are really low or even free if the other person has free minutes as well.

Looks like a legitimate service. Can't see any obvious catches. The whole phone market is in chaos at the moment. I'm pretty sure that within 5 years, we'll all be using VOIP as standard.
