Well, HTML 5 is on the way, as discussed in this month's ALA article (http://www.alistapart.com/articles/previewofhtml5) and although it will come in an XHTML version as well, I'm left wondering whether we really need two versions - wouldn't it be simpler all round to stick with the XHTML serialisaton? Or am I missing something here?
