I am of the opinion that I will become more wary of sellers once this starts

Oh no! That completely undermines the whole trust premise that ebay is built on - I think it is a bad, bad idea, I'll certainly be wary too.

Could this be how they are going to get around not having negative feedback? If when they cut it off you weren't doing well then you have to sell using Paypal?

Buyers tell us they love the reassurance they get when sellers, especially new ones, offer PayPal as a payment method. That's why from late February, you'll need to offer PayPal if you have less than 100 Feedback ratings.

Since eBay bought PayPal, they've been working very hard to get everyone signed up. I have to say, I find PayPal very useful and easy to use but... This week, eBay asked me to update my sellers credit card details. I tried following the instructions but it was simply impossible (a glitch in the system?) - the only alternative I had was to change to PayPal. I don't like coercion.
