I've just upgraded vBulletin to the latest major release 3.7. This brings a number of new features, some of which may be of no use to us but others are. The most obvious additions are the tagging and social bookmarking options associated with threads. I'll leave you to discover the other stuff.

As this is the start of a new academic year, I've just updated vBulletin to the latest release 3.7.2 PL1. Changes from the previous version are minor but security is improved.

I also just upgraded the visitor tracking add-on with enhanced spider detection so that we can look out for some of those more elusive spiders and maybe even track some of the new ones.

Not seen Cuil robot - Twiceler - yet!
Their way of submitting your site is to email them your domain name - not sure how much effort you want to put into getting a visit!

I updated the spider detection thing on the CADTutor forum a day or so ago and this is the result.
:"> Oh no I haven't - just scanned through the list again. I'll keep my eyes peeled and let you know if it turns up.

I imagine it won't be too long before one of them turns up here but we still won't see them showing up in AWStats.

The robots are visiting my site, I can see the visits using the latest visitors option in the control panel but then of course they do not appear in the AWStats results.
I am particularly interested to see if the search engine can succeed.
Although my site is yet to be indexed this week they have picked up on some of my posts on various other sites so fingers crossed it won't be long.
At worst they can't do much worse than Live Search who this week seem to have given my domain, pages and backlinks all 5 out of 5 when last week there was a mixture of 1 through 5!

Rob, I'm not sure what you mean about the Live Search numbers - are they Microsoft's eqivalent of PageRank?

Yes they are.
On their Webmaster Tools it shows you the score for your top 5 pages indexed, scores your domain overall and also scores your backlinks.
