Even on a broadband connection, I'm border half-way through that loading sequence. Clicking on the "AA news" link at the bottom gives a much darker, less pleasing grey colour.

Nothing on there made me wanted to explore the site further

as an excersise in usability and accesibility it's terrible

as an excersise in showcasing Flash skills it's excellent. C'mon Tom, if any of your landscapers presented their urban design projects with something like this you'd be applauding (beats those hideous PowerPoint transitions anytime).

as an excersise in showing off to the Hoxton-finned, mincing designer types it also succeeds.

ask yourself this:
who is this site going to impress most: poncey designer types
who are their most likely clients: poncey designer types?

Fair points and well made. Next time I want a Flash website, a house which looks like an art gallery or some music to play during a domestic fracas I will know where to go. But next time I want an architect .......? I'll go DIY.
Somebody ought to tell them that most architectural commissions do not come from architectural firms.
