Hi

I have video clips of workouts to add to my site.

Am I best off using youtube to host them or can you recommend the best way of inserting the clips into the site.

Thanks

Rob

I wouldn't use Youtube. Nothing wrong with it but they embed a youtube logo and people can click off your site.

I do this:

convert video to FLV (look on download.com for free software)
use JW FLV Media player (http://www.jeroenwijering.com/?item=JW_FLV_Player)
don't forget to embed in the page using an IE-friendly script (using embed tag generates a nasty "click to enable" popup)

Have a look at one of my sites:

The videos on the right hand side use this method. Feel free to lift the code.

I think there is a small licence fee for commercial applications, this is a new requirement. Still worth it in my opinion as much more professional than embedding youtube.

However, you ought to put videos on youtube AS WELL, because it can generate extra traffic to your site, if you post your URL.
