View Full Version : looking for good podcasting software

I'm planning to add podcasts of the recipes on my blog, www.urbanfoodie.net (http://www.urbanfoodie.net), so that people can listen to them while they cook (saves getting splashes in the laptop screen!).

Has anyone got any advice to give me? Any software you can recommend? I've sorted out the plugin into my Wordpress blog and now just need to look at creating the things.

Any musings on the matter gratefully received.

Actually, no special software is required. I use Audacity (http://audacity.sourceforge.net/) for recording and converting to MP3 with good results but you will need a half descent microphone.

I have a Samson USB microphone. It is great for Skype and great for recording - and you don't need either an amp or a mixer board.

Thanks both, very useful, I have downloaded Audacity and ordered a mike (for info it is a Samson CO3U USB condenser (http://www.samsontech.com/products/productpage.cfm?prodID=1878))

Will keep you posted with podcasts...

Do you have a friend who would like to talk about cooking with you? I don't see myself doing this if I ever get round to podcasting but I have often heard it said that podcasts work best as conversations - and that they are much easier to do.

Tom - I agree!

Have started playing with my Samson mike - it's great!

Charlotte - Thanks for your encouragement, no need to apologise for posting! I hope you enjoy the paprika chicken, I'd love to hear how you get on.
