Au revoir Webmonkey

Tis true (http://www.wired.com/news/infostructure/0,1377,62300,00.html), Webmonkey (http://hotwired.lycos.com/webmonkey/) is shutting down. That site has some excellent articles and has been good reading. I wasn't much of a user, but when I was, it was enjoyable, easy to understand and (more often than not) worthwhile.

That is a real shame. I guess Lycos just weren't getting any (or enough) income from the site. I just hope that all that material remains online although inevitably it will become out-of-date. It is indeed the end of an era. Webmonkey has helped me out of a number of corners over the years - not much latterly I admit because there are now far better sites out there but in the early days, Webmonkey was IT.
