Sigh - let down again, what a life... Lifting the lid on computer filth (http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/health/3505414.stm) wasn't the article I'd hoped for...

:D Yes... I often wonder about the computers/keyboards at Greenwich. When I worked in an office (yes I did!), we had keyboard cleansing operatives. Once a week someone would come in and clean your phone and keyboard with a pleasant smelling wet wipe.
This is not the kind of luxury that comes with employment in higher education. The level of dirt and grunge on keyboards at Greenwich can often be measured by depth. Where have all those fingers been and what is that black stuff anyway?

I developed late-onset asthma (ie about 15 years ago, heck knows what it would be called if it came at my current age) and it got steadily worse. Last year, as perhaps my 15th experiment, I tried a war-on-dust in the rooms I work in, at college and at home. First to go was a rather beautiful white fluffy carpet which my wife had always hated. The affliction got better quite suddenly and I have been looking for other dust traps to eliminate ever since. I had never suspected my keyboard, so thanks for the information. Do you think I can just unscrew the back or will all those little keys pop out and need putting back in thir places?
