The last couple of months have seen the publication of a number of new books and new editions of existing books that are worth checking out. I haven't yet had the opportunity to look at these myself but if you find a copy in your local store, please take a look and post a review here:

Designing with Web Standards (3rd Edition) by Jeffrey Zeldman

Rocket Surgery Made Easy: The Do-it-yourself Guide to Finding and Fixing Usability Problems by Steve Krug

CSS Mastery: Advanced Web Standards Solutions (2nd Edition) by Andy; Collison, Simon; Moll, Cameron; Budd, Andy

Developing with Web Standards by John Allsopp

Talking of books, would you recommend Dan Cederholm's Bulletproof Web design?

I have found Handcrafted CSS to be really well written with great examples. I understood even some of the more complicated elements as he leaves nothing unexplained.

Yes, it's a good book but not one I own myself. Bear in mind that it's a few years old now, although there was a second edition a couple of years ago. Certainly worth a read - I thought we had a copy in the Avery Hill library...

...but apparently not - obviously an oversight.

Content Strategy For The Web by Kristina Halvorson is very good. It really places the emphasis on why content is so, so important and shouldn't be the last part of the process, replacing Lorum Ipsum at the last moment. It's a thin book, but worth every penny, IMHO.
