does kind of beg the question "Why not just buy a Mac?"

the PC / Mac price difference is not as bad as all that. The main reason i hear off students why they don't go for a Mac is that all the dodgy software is readily available for PC but Mac pirated software is harder to come by.

Isn't it the same for genuine software - approx 10 times as much available for the PC?
