Hey guys,

I've got my test site up for martini-meets... I know this forum is indexed by Google regularly hence I thought I'd upload the link to encourage the process!!!

You'll also notice I've put the link on my virtuvian post on the blog which has also been indexed by Google.

You are a clever one Mr Kris! I love the beginnings of the site (you know I am a fickle one for design) but can appreciate your approach of slowly slowly catchy monkey with Google, so starting now is a great idea.

I planned to get a logo and some sort of 'under construction' page up this weekend!

But first I need to play with Illustrator as have never used it before!

p.s. does what Kris has done above with the link count as a 'link in' from a reputable site?

Hey KA,

I'm actually hoping my efforts at throwing my web address on loads of websites will make Google catch on.

I've also submitted it manually using the below link:
http://www.google.co.uk/addurl/

I also tried something called www.addme.com but it looked quite dodgy so I'm not actually sure its done anything. Its totally worth getting started ASAP though as it could take a while to get things going.

Kris

Ps. is this a reputable site....hahahahahaha! Sorry David!

Hey guys,

Just an update... I'm now listed on Google (approx 1.5 weeks I think). Number 10 when you search for Martini-meets, but 5 when you search for Martini-meets professional networking.

Another quick PR for the site while I'm here http://www.martini-meets.co.uk

LOL! Enjoy!!

What do you think about having a 'Work in Progress' section, with links the sites currently under development, on www.websitearchitecture.co.uk ?

Sounds like a brilliant idea Tom.

Congrats Kris, told you Google would get there!

I am putting the finishing touches to mine (trying to make it liquid and need my tag line) but then it will be up and running.

Martini meets is on its way!!!!!!

Thanks for all your support guys!! My page is doing well on Google and I'm going back to the drawing board this week to increase the penetration of keywords for the Q&A... as it seems to be listed amongst the top 20 websites (at least!) for any combination of the keywords cocktails, networking, profesisonal, london, martini, meets - WHICH IS FAB! Let's see if I can get it up higher

I recommend some market research. It is good to do well on the targeted keywords but it is even better to do well on correctly chosen targeted keywords. I am not saying you have got them wrong, but you need to be sure. So my suggestion is to put some systematic questions (ie a set of well-thought out questions) to friends etc. Eg 'What keywords would you search on if... '
- you wanted to .....
- you wanted to .....
- you wanted to .....
- you wanted to .....
- you wanted to .....
Tabulated answers would make a good section for your research report
