Just a quick thought after my experience of installing WordPress. Initially in my haste to start pressing buttons and uploading to my webhost I neglected to read all the instructions! It was only after a conversation with Kris that the thought occurred to me that my webhost may already have WordPress installed. Infact after a bit of investigation I discover that by using fantastico, a software installation service offered by my webhost under its software tab that the process could be reduced to under 5 mins. This removed the need to download the app from wordpress and then to upload which was taking ages, and simplified the database configuration.
And the moral of the story is read the instructions before screwing bits together - it will be faster in the longer term... but I already knew that

yep, I have been guilty of the same thing. My server (fasthosts) has nothing as user-friendly as pre-installation that Stewart describes, but I did exactly the same as he did when installing it for my friend's photography site...only to discover there was already installed by the ISP. What's more, Fasthosts charges about £25 per year for setting up a database. This charge is over and above one's monthly charge.

On the subject of WordPress, I saw this theme and thought it reminded me of Kerrianne's colour scheme....http://1800blogger.com/demos/index.php?wptheme=Girls%20Theme

Yes, anyone hosted on a server using cPanel is likely to have access to the excellent Fantasico install system. For those who don't know, Fantastico includes a range of common PHP/MySQL applications like blogs (including WordPress) and bulletin boards such as phpBB. The minor downside is that the application versions might not be bang up-to-date but (depending on how frequently the hosting company updates cPanel) they will be reasonably recent.
Obviously, with WordPress, the update process, once intallation is complete, is a snip.

Does anyone have any experience with any SEO plugins for WordPress - I noticed that the All in One SEO Plugin seems to provide some useful control over titles, descriptions & tags ?
