I think I'll buy .net magazine in the absence of Internet Magazine. I think it is OK, particularly as they now have Web Builder magazine included in the price.

Here's a scan from Web Builder. I thought Francis would like too see the IE v Mozilla / Opera stats.

Yawn, this old one again. Firstly, where are these stats from? Are they from people visiting the .net site, are they from people visiting the onestat site, are they from figures cobbled together by a journalist on the back of a napkin in McDonalds? They don't say, so how can these be qualified? Have a look at Google's zeitgeist (http://www.google.com/press/zeitgeist.html) page: Netscape 5+ (inc Mozilla) is very very close to IE 5 and 5.5 - way closer than the stats above show. In fact the stats above don't even mention Netscape 5+. Come to think about it, there never was a Netscape 5 - it was abandoned and they wrote a new browser from the ground up which became Netscape 6.

So, what does this prove? Stats are good for getting an overall snapshot of what people are using but the only stats worth bothering with are the ones for your own site. What are your visitors using?
