New WordPress book from Sitepoint

This may have come a little late for Kerri-Anne but if it's up to the usual Sitepoint high standards, it ought to be good. The new Wicked WordPress Themes (http://www.sitepoint.com/books/wordpress1/)book looks like it may be the solution to much future head-scratching.

The trouble with books like that is that they're out of date as soon as they go to press. Wordpress 3 introduced some new asshat system that made dealing with forms needlessly complex (http://wp.me/pPMPT-2d), effectively borking easy ways to adapt your site (whether it be converting to HTML5 or whatever else you want). And when that happens, the publisher is screwed—there's really very little they can do. This type of book, where the publisher has no control of the subject they're publishing about, reminds me of those useless "1000 Twitter accounts you should follow"-type magazines you see in Smiths.
