I found this very interesting article (http://mingle2.com/blog/view/how-i-built-mingle2) by web designer Matthew Inman (http://0at.org/). While I don't think that many of us are going to be capable of cobbling together a fully featured and functional website in under 70 hours any time soon, it does give some insight into the design process and has some wise words on prioritising of features and tasks.
