This post on Simon Willison's Weblog (http://simon.incutio.com/archive/2004/07/16/registration) pretty much sums up my feelings towards compulsory registration to read articles - it's an irritation that I refuse to "play nicely" with. I seem to do the same as the commentors - I'll just hit the back button if I'm asked to register for a site. And, like the commentors, it's even more frustrating when, after my interest has been piqued by a link, I'm asked to register to read the document. All hail then, bugmenot (http://www.bugmenot.com/)

That's a very good article and matches my own feelings on the subject exactly. It has always been suggested to me that I should have users register at CADTutor before viewing the tutorials but I just know that most would not bother - and then where would my Adsense income be?

BugMeNot is a great idea - all hail to them indeed.
