Get this while you can as it will no doubt be taken down/fixed within 24 hours. Alistapart has just been hacked. The URL redirects to missionarlington.org (http://www.missionarlington.org/) - something of a similar design to ALA. I'll grab a screen shot and put it up later. This is really annoying as it's hampering an article I'm writing...

So, this broadband thing. Pretty fast.
Below is a screenshot of the ALA redirect thing. It was very strange, I tried to follow a link from one of the W3C's quality assurance pages (http://www.w3.org/QA/Tips/font-size) and got the site below. Then I tried the ALA homepage and got the same thing. It seemed to only last about 2 hours. If you have a look at the site in question, it bears an absolutely remarkable resembalence to all things AlistApart

I tried it about 15 minutes after you posted and got the usual homepage so they obviously sorted it pretty quickly. Obviously someone spotted the layout similarity and decided to make a point.
These sort of domain redirects are very anoying when they happen. About 12 months ago, a similar thing happened to a site that I link to from the CADTutor homepage. The first thing I knew about it was when I recieved a couple of emails from users complaining that I was linking to pornographic sites from my homepage. It was true, my legitimate link to a 3D Graphics site had been hikacked and was going to a porno site. Obviously I removed the link as soon as I knew about it.
I'm not sure how they manage to do it - must be some way of hacking DNS entries.

All very strange. I guess they probably know about it but I filled out the contact form in case I was the only person on the planet that did see it. What a pleasant thanks page:
Your message has been sent.
Thanks for sharing your joys and concerns with the cast and crew of A List Apart. We love you very much!
The CSS (everything from the name of the file to the its location and the way its brought into the document) gives the whole game away. One for pirated-sites, je pense

Later: A reply from Zeldman says "There was a temporary problem this morning (EST, your afternoon) that we fixed"
