For those who are thinking of using Google's keyword tool solely for SEO, you might want to check out this article here (http://www.malcolmcoles.co.uk/blog/why-you-shouldnt-use-googles-keyword-tool-for-seo/). There are some interesting points raised (and responses) about disparity of logged-in/logged-out searching, also validity of search terms/arbitrary numbers returned on certain search terms.

That explains some of the anomalies I've noticed. However, I still think it's a good place to start, even if the actual numbers aren't perfect. As the article says, Google Insights may be better but the 2 together give a good overall picture.

Great bit of research with this article - it is clear that one should consider with caution the google machine results before "selling your house " on an SEO plan - all SEO planners might like to keep ears and eyes open to what the buzz is in this specialism- in the book - get into bed with google they suggest www.searchenginewatch.com (http://www.searchenginewatch.com) - voices here apparently have no allegiance and you can hear what the boffs in the industry are discussing - food for thought - thanks

I guess it's usually the case to check different resources and compare them.
