Via Zeldman's sidebar, quite an interesting list of company names and their origins (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_company_name_etymologies)

Interesting, yes, but also disappointing. I thought the company was called Apple because Alan Turing had killed himself with poison on an apple, and the company name was a tribute to his genius.
Also, Zeldman does not explain that RTZ, formerly known as Rio Tinto Zinc, takes its name from the tinted river which the company polluted with its mining operations.

The "via Zeldman..." was just crediting the discovery of the link to Zeldman, rather than saying it was his work. The link goes to WikiPedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/), the rather amazing online encyclopedia. If you don't know what a Wiki is, do the the home page and read through "learn how to edit pages" and "sandbox" links. Anyone can add content to a Wiki, so if you want to add your RTZ information once you're 100% sure it's correct, you can!
