David, I like Invision Power Board more that PHPBB and would like to use it on my photography site.
I have visited http://www.invisionboard.com/ but cannot find a free version anymore (although I remember looking before and finding it eventually, but not today).
Can you see if you can find it? If not can you send me the installation files (if you still have them?).
IPB is the most professional looking of all the forum packages I have seen.
Cheers.

James - you're about 1 week too late <_<
Invision released their version 2 forum just over a week ago. They announced some time back that there would not be a free version of this new forum and that you'd need to pay to use it. I thought they may leave access to v1.3 - the last version one forum that was free but apparently not.
Sadly, I don't have a copy of the 1.3 code and I'm now kicking myself for not keeping an archive copy.
I have to say, though, that I also think IPB is about the best Forum out there and version two is quite impressive. Bearing that in mind, it doesn't seem unreasonable to pay what they're asking for it.
I'm in the process of moving the CADTutor forum and I am seriously considering moving over to IPB at the same time and I'll probably pay for v2. It does, apparently integrate with Coppermine but since v2 is so new (just over a week) it might be worth waiting a while or to check with Coppermine that it works fine with IPB v2.

Thanks David.
That's a shame, I might see if I can find it on Kazaa later.
I will consider buying the lifetime licence, but maybe later on when I have more of a site to link it to.
I notice that Invision do a Gallery themselves - I will check it out, you never know I might prefer it to Coppermine.
In fact, it looks VERY nice indeed:

I had a look at the IPB gallery when consitering the same for CADTutor but it seemed to me that they had just tweaked the bulletin board to become a gallery rather than designing it from the ground up. I also noticed that some strange things happen to the page layout when larger images are used. This page (http://demo.invisiongallery.com/index.php?act=module&module=gallery&cmd=sc&cat=2) is all over the place.
Coppermine is still my gallery of choice at the moment but I'd be interested to hera your comments on the Invision Services (as we must now call them) gallery.

James - it's your lucky day. Guess what I found today while sweeping out some cobwebs? No prizes. I have a beautifully formed .ZIP containing IPB v1.3 Final. It's the last free version of IPB. Would you like a copy?
