i have to say I'm tempted by the iPod photo. what a great idea - you can even plug it into a projector and do a slideshow presentation on the go (accompanied by your iTunes library of course)

Give me £249 and I'll tell you!

The new iPod Photo does look very nice indeed.

"Wondering how you’re going to get all your digital photographs into iPod Photo? iTunes 4.7. The new version lets you import your images directly into iPod Photo from a folder on the hard drive of your Mac or PC".

Clods.

What photographers need is either (1) a card-reader slot on the iPod [like a Viewsonic], or, (2) a USB connection to a camera.

There are a lot more digital camera users than MP3 users in the world.

But look at this! Try a Google Search on Viewsonic (http://www.google.co.uk/search?hl=en&q=viewsonic&meta=) and what comes top of the Adsense returns? An advert from BT.com! Even odder, the product they have for sale is "VideoSonic 15'' Flat Panel Display - TFT (VE155s)". Is there really anyone in the UK stupid enough to want a store for their digital photos and then to get tempted into buying a TFT monitor instead? I thought the Dutchman in charge of BT was bringing the company to its senses, especially with his making BT the first major telco to annouce a 100% swithch to IP for telephony. I heard yesterday that Skype has 68 staff and 10m users. The boss says it's a Google-type operation. Most people get free telephony, paid for by a few people who pay (like Adwords) for additional features.

"Produced by Jupiter Research the analysis of the portable media player market found only 13% of Europeans want to watch video while out and about.

By contrast, almost a third are interested in listening to music on a portable player such as an iPod."

and i agree. I'm always seeing people showing pictures to each other on their mobiles. Also the iPod photo displays the album are of the music you're playing

Belkin (http://catalog.belkin.com/IWCatProductPage.process?Merchant_Id=&Section_Id=2062&pcount=&Product_Id=158350) do an iPod / Card reader adapter thing.
