I thought the "Newest Member" statistic wasn't very useful so I've used my limited PHP skills to bring you something a bit more interesting. The statistics now show our least active member and the length of time since their last login ;)
This topic refers to the old forum

Very cunning David!
But if people aren't visiting then they're not going to be shamed into contributing because they won't see that stat! Have you sent an e-mail encouraging participation?
We won't get an MA just by turning up to Uni 3 hours a week - there's LOADS of work and reading to do in our own time as well! (particularly now Stuart and Tom are dishing out work like it's gone out of fashion!) and this forum is a great place to keep momentum going and share ideas, but it needs everyone contributing regularly.

David did send an email out encouraging participation on 12 December.
One point on this, though. Just because they haven't logged in doesn't mean that they haven't visited and haven't read everything. The only way you'll know whether they haven't visisted at all is by going through the server logs; there are probably so few members that they'll capture us individuals.

That's true. Do you think we have lurkers? I doubt it. This is a participatory sport after all and anyone with a point of view (and that's everyone on the course I would hope) would have to respond to some thread or other. You could even test this by posting a thread called something like "Flash is Crap". If Ron was just lurking, he surely couldn't resist that ;)

To be honest, I was giving them the benefit of the doubt by suggesting that they might be lurking. I don't think they are. I might try that Flash thing...
