Can anyone suggest some good open source for Macs. My pc is out of action at the moment so can't use Notepad+ but can anyone suggest a resource to write code for a Mac?

Textwrangler's (http://www.barebones.com/products/textwrangler/twprogrammer.html) pretty good. If you're going to be doing most of your coding on a Mac then Espresso's (http://macrabbit.com/espresso/) worth the price of admission. Also, from what I remember (and it's been years since I used it) the text editor built into Aptana (http://aptana.com/) is very good. It's an IDE rather than a text editor, but it's very streamlined and you can ignore everything but the text editor if you want!

I use Taco (http://tacosw.com/htmledit/), you get a free trial for 30 days.

Assuming Hamster's a lad of course.

I shall try them out, although a lot of options there, why isn't there just one simple answer for everything?

What's the meaning of life?

Mind you, I get that asked a lot of me in my professional capacity as a careers adviser. We all want easy answers but unfortunately, an easy answer is like an ex-South African racist with a penchant for hitting small Irish men, having a sense of humour, very hard to find.

Pretty sure she isn't! There are loads of good text editors for OSX - I would just install as many as you can and see which one you like best.

Prisca recommends Taco. Although not free, it looks pretty good for the money.

so I think I will try Taco. Although I prefer burritos myself. Mind you a nice sizzling jumbo shrimp fajita washed down with very strong, salty margaritas and a few Mexican beers is also very nice. Next May I shall be trying them all!

Now, what were we saying about Web Design?...
