Its amazing what a difference a few changes can make. I have just raised my monitor by 150mm (on a nice Muji filing box with a drawer) and my shoulders are now much less hunched while working, so that I am not longer thinking about hiring a masseuse. Even better, in buying a new computer (Hush) I spent a bit less on the processor, because I really don't need extra power, and got a fanless computer. It is a heck of a lot quieter and would be silent but for the hard drive. Also it runs XP MCE, pretty useless for TV with the bad reception we get but the hibernate button on the remote is wonderful. One click, one second and its asleep. Touch a key and its awake with all the software where you left it. But for that hard drive I would be back to the long lost golden age when I had a BBC micro you could switch on and off like an electric light.
Another change I made was to get a box to raise my mouse pad. My chair is rather high and the box keeps me from having to bend my wrist. It looks odd but its effective.
