Interesting article on CNet (http://news.com.com/Firefox+users+ignore+online+ads%2C+report+says/2100-1024_3-5479800.html?tag=st.pop) with some stats showing that FF users are less likely to click on banner ads than IE users. I guess part of that is because IE still has the dominant market share and there's still a great deal of education to do, but also because a lot of people swear by AdBlock extension (https://update.mozilla.org/extensions/moreinfo.php?application=firefox&id=10&vid=664), which removes adverts from pages so that the user just doesn't seem them in the first place. No ads, no clicks!

Ironically, when I tried to read this CNET article there was a huge Intel advert covering the first few paragraphs. So I gave up and did something else.
I don't mind ads actually, no one makes you click them, but I HATE the ones that cover the article you are trying to read. They're worse than popups.

May I suggest FF and Adblock for your browsing pleasure?! Here's a comparison:

Adblock comes with optional tabs on all Flash elements. You can turn them off if you don't want them on the page, but if you have them on, clicking on one of those annoying Flash popup things brings up a dialogue box. Just follow these steps - it only take a couple of seconds and, if you make a mistake, it's easy to undo (note, I couldn't find a floating Flash ad, so this example uses just a normal Flash banner ad):
