I'm after a good beginner's/entry level book on XP that will give some good hints and tips. Amazon have got number 5* rated books but without actually seeing them, I don'r want to part with any money. Does anyone have any recommendations?

I can't recommend an XP book but I have found that for book buying Amazon is invaluable - but it is not enough. So every now and again I go to Foyles and look through the books. Its better.

I did some Christmas shopping in Waterstone's yesterday, only because I have missed the Amazon delivery deadline.
I enjoyed it, but the books are expensive compared to Amazon. The experience did not make up for the full retail prices charged and I will still buy books at Amazon in future.

Yes: if you can be bothered the best plan is to eyeball the books in a shop and then order them from Amazon!

That's what I did. There's so many books on XP that I ended up going to Ottakers and going through loads. A lot of them are pretty similar. I picked up The Complete Idiots Guide To..., ...In A Snap and also The Dummies Guide To Cleaning Windows XP.
