Perhaps after his GSOH financial loss on Myspace (http://www.theregister.co.uk/2011/02/03/myspace_seeks_buyer/), or other experiences, Murdoch concluded that the internet was simply a place for "porn, thievery and hackers (http://www.independent.co.uk/news/media/online/rupert-murdoch-expands-media-interests--with-a-twitter-account-6283991.html)". But he has now opened a Twitter account. So read all about it (https://twitter.com/#!/rupertmurdoch) - and enjoy a Happy New Year. [btw: I have no problem in believing that Murdoch's tweets are not being sub-edited.]

I have just browsed through his and Lord Sugar's tweets. My first impression is that, even though the accounts are "Verified", there is no chance that those tweets are genuine. Yet again I am not quite sure what is a Verified account. According to twitter (http://support.twitter.com/groups/31-twitter-basics/topics/111-features/articles/119135-about-verified-accounts) they use "this to establish authenticity of well known accounts so users can trust that a legitimate source is authoring their Tweets." , however there is no information on the actual verification process. Thus I cannot believe the actual Rupert Murdoch writes those tweets.
Does anyone have any information about the verification process?
