In order to run my webmerge operation I have to export my database to a .txt file. I did it today for the first time in a good while and discovered that my date field is now being exported with 2 decimal places (eg 1986.00 instead of 1986). The problem may date from my switching to a later version of Access. I had the date data in a text field and tried changing this to a number field (and set it to format for no decimal places) but the problem persists. Does anyone have any ideas?

Doesn't Access have a specific date format? It's been a while since I've used it, but I'm sure it does. If you've been putting in dates into a cell not formatted as a date, then this is probably why it's going awry. Also have a look and see if there's a decimal place marker somewhere - if there is, see if you can turn it off or set it to 0.
I don't know which version of Access you've migrated from, but I know that there are issues going from 97 to 2002.

Thanks for the suggestion. I have not solved the suggestion yet - except by a Search and Replace for .00 on the folder!
