Here's a classic example of a website that looks great and is completely unusable. These guys make street and interior furniture. Say you were a designer and you wanted to see their range of bollards. Have a go, I dare you.

That has to be one of the most irritating sites I've had the misfortune of seeing in a good while. I gave up after a minute of fruitless clicking (I'm guessing it's under 'street', but I couldn't get through that section).

If Architects Had To Work Like Web Designers (http://twasink.net/blog/archives/2004/10/if_architects_h.html).... Too many cooks on this one or yet another case of "oooh, Flash can do this, so we should make use of it" foolery?

Conoisseurs of irritation should have a look at this approach to giving map directions on a website (http://www.villaserbelloni.com/multilang/logist00.cfm?CFID=600299&CFTOKEN=70913129&CustomerLang=2). Its a scream.

PS I like the analogy with architecture - and I daresay many colleagues would say they have clients just like that.
