I don't know if this is a goood idea or not, but has anyone thought about using del.icio.us to create their own social bookmarks? I signed up (http://del.icio.us/thedonf?setcount=50) a few weeks ago (long story about the name...) and have found some really useful things through it that I've now got saved and tagged and can access from any computer, anywhere.

Basically, find a site, add it to your bookmarks with whatever descriptive tags you feel best describes the resource and you get a list of other people who have linked to the same thing. From there you can explore other people's bookmarks or other tags and find all manner of things. Anyone can view anyone else's tags and, if the need takes them, copy links onto their own set of bookmarks (I did this with some of Jon Hicks' del.icio.us bookmarks (http://del.icio.us/jonhicks)).

So, how about this: create course set of bookmarks for this course that can be linked to and used by staff, students and anyone else who wants to use them. I'm not sure how you'd want to administer it as, to be really useful, you'd want everyone adding links which could be an issue. It would mean one central resource for links that would be publically available. Don't know if it's a good idea or not...
