Have you seen the apple nano ipod and the collaboration with motorola phone?

Both seem to be very 'normal' and nothing groundbreaking.

When are apple going to produce an ipod which can play movies and has wireless connection??

For those who haven't seen them:-

Ipod Nano (http://www.apple.com/uk/ipodnano/)

Apple Phone (http://www.apple.com/uk/itunes/mobile/)

A video iPod has been mooted for several months now - just Google on Video Ipod to see for yourself. You can use various bits of (maybe Apple only) kit to transmit your iPod to other parts of the house, I believe. From the endless blog posts I've read about the nano, you really have to see it in the 'flesh' to actually see how amazing it is. I see the boxes in my local Dixons every day to and from work, but have yet to actually see one un-boxed. With technology growing so fast, I'm hoping my 3rd gen iPod will last until Apple produce a 20+gig nano. Now, that would be worth every penny

As for the phone: meh. All I want is a phone to make phone calls with. I really don't care for cameras, games, sodding poly-sodding-phonic sodding ringtones or anything else.

I agree Francis. I popped in to the Apple Store on Regent Street yesterday (I was at a conference hosted at the London College of Fashion) and had a hands-on look at the Nano. It is beautiful, unbelievably slim, usual stainless steel back and colour screen. In form, it's the best thing yet but the capacity is way too low to be really useful. I've come to the conclusion that for any serious muso, a 20GB capacity is the minimum. On the other hand, for those with relatively modest music collections it may be just the thing.

Dixons in TW now have an unpackaged Nano in the window, and it's soooo teeny tiny! Still, if you don't like that you could always go for a new Dell Ditty (http://daringfireball.net/2005/09/ditty). Or maybe not.

 That is amusing. There's no doubt that Apple make the most beautiful MP3 players on the planet - even Sony don't get a look in. Sony are calling their latest player (http://www.sony.co.uk/view/ShowArticle.action?section=en_GB_Products&article=1123689905907&site=odw_en_GB) "simply sexy" but it sounds pretty hollow - they know we're all fashion slaves and wouldn't be seen with anything other than an iPod. Interesting that Sony are now calling this piece of kit a "Walkman" - good move but not good enough.

Seems as though the nano has some problems with surface scratching (http://www.theregister.co.uk/2005/09/23/ipod_nano_scratching/). Poor choice of manufacturing materials - I wonder if they'll fix this? Also, have a look at flawedmusicplayer.com (http://www.flawedmusicplayer.com/) for more. Looks like the nano could need avoiding until this is fixed.

Which means the results of this survey could spell bad news for the Nano (http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/technology/4282614.stm). Interestingly, and it might not be related, my local Dixons which has had a nicely-stocked window display of Nanos for the last couple of weeks, is now bereft of them.
