Currently in beta, TypeTester (http://typetester.maratz.com/) is a really useful online tool to compare different fonts. It has 'safe fonts' (ariel, verdanda etc), lists of Win and Mac fonts, you can play with the leading, word spacing, alignment and more. This could be a really helpful tool. Lots of design-based sites (Zeldman for one) use Lucida Grande as their primary font - it's a standard Mac font - so now you can see what you're missing out on!

Good link, I was looking for something like this recently but didn't find anything.

Not sure Lucida Grande is enough to lure me to by a Mac I'm afraid. I'm sure they're gorgeous computers but I'm still waiting for you and Phil to explain why they're better than PCs!
