You may have seen the Making Britain Healthier adverts in the press. It's a joint campaign between several PMI companies to show the benefits of private healthcare. They have a site (http://www.makingbritainhealthier.com) as well. What does anyone think about it - the implementation, the look and feel, the message it sends?

I found the site cold, sterile and almost unintelligible. Navigation was unintuitive and the quality of the text (image) very poor. It does absolutely nothing to explain itself.

Very poor.

Oh good, it wasn't just me then! As my company is part of the group behind the initiative, I contacted one of the people responsible. It's a classic case of a marketing/web agency pulling the wool over people's eyes. What's disappointing is that so many companies didn't raise an objection to the site. With an added clause of "these are my views and not the views of my company", the site is appalling. There was no thought to accessibility, the navigation is, as you said, unintuitive - there are buttons all over the place that seem to do the same thing, the colour scheme is cold and uninviting and certainly wouldn't endear me to buying PMI. Regarding your comment about the text - I feel exactly the same way, but others, strangely, do not. I find it hard to read. It's a strange, strange thing.

I found out what the brief was so might have a go at doing my own version.

Yep, it has all the hallmarks of that.

It would be interesting to know what the budget was. Basically, it's extremely lazy and my guess is that the marketing people just gave it to some yound Flash guy to knock it out quickly.

It's one of the worst pieces of quality crap I've seen in a while.
