View Full Version : Zeal and DMOZ directories

Just noticed that zeal.com has been shut down. Shame that, because I got my site listed there eventually.

The Open Directory Project (DMOZ) is a different matter. I have been submitting and re-submitting my site for two years and nothing ever happens. I have tried to become an editor twice and have been rejected (because they felt I was more concerned with adding my own site than others).

A quick search of the web shows that there are thousands of frustrated webmasters being ignored by DMOZ.

Perhaps they object to the prominence of my adverts? Some feedback would be helpful but they just don't communicate.

My SEO is doing very well without DMOZ but I can't help but think it would give me a nice boost if I got listed.

I'm going to forget about it now (hopefully).

James, with a page rank of 6/10, I'd say you were doing very well indeed. It's impossible to tell exactly how much of an improvement a listing on DMOZ would make but I think it would only be incremental.

I didn't realise Zeal had gone. Do you know why?
