I'm trying to find guidelines for written material on the university's intranet, and not having much luck. However, I have found these, slightly worrying, problems on this listing page (http://www.gre.ac.uk/intranet/students.htm). Under "D" I can't access:

1: Information on the data protection act (it won't serve my IP address)
2: Disability main contacts: 404
3: Disability policy statements: 404. Also these statements only go up to 1999. Are there newer statements? If so, why aren't they listed?

On, and on the library subject guides page (http://www.greenwich.ac.uk/directory/library/subjects/index.html), the Pico Search graphic is linked to the developer's D drive.

Right, off to try and find those writing guidelines...

Please send your comments on the subject guide to Alice A.M.Fulcher@gre.ac.uk. Library staff like to know what use people are making use of the library pages. She should be able to obtain answer re your other points. I asked her to put in a subject guide for Website Architecture. Information Architects often come from a library and information science background.

Okay, will do. In the mean-time, is there a preferred style for text documents, eg: 12pt Arial, black text with normal line spacing? Or can I use that shocking pink Comic Sans that I love so much?

So far as I know, the University publishes no guidance on this topic - and I hope it never does! The only points about pink might be (1) some tutors might giggle (2) others might be colour blind.

Francis,

I put put a few useful links on the following page - www.gre.ac.uk/schools/a-and-c/occ_health/dl/s56u.html. It is a page for or occupational health and safety distance students and I haven't up-dated for a little while but I think most of the links should still work.

Thanks Terry, I'll start ploughing through that lot.

Francis,

I have just checked the links and the last one gives a 403 error. You might need to access that page via the intranet (if it is still available).

The general study skills page link is given below.

Ho hum...

Try and use the PicoSearch search engine on The citations page (http://www.greenwich.ac.uk/directory/library/guides/bibcitns.html) and the Library Guides page (http://www.greenwich.ac.uk/directory/library/guides/index.html). They don't work? Why? Because the form elements aren't actually part of a form. Fantastic!

On a slightly different subjeect, I seem to be able to print off header sheets now - I don't know if someone "here" fixed this for us - if so, thanks
