I mean Icons - impressive symbols! Shopping baskets, email, money-off, arrows .. that kind of thing

Do a search for icons on smashing magazine. Loads of great links. i use Smashing Magazine as a search engine for this type of thing.

    Hey Stewart,

I think a lot of that kind of jazz is free.... check out these links. Istock is an absolute rip off but if you do buy from them make sure you use that 20% off voucher I put up on the forum last week.

I prefer 'free' and I have mostly switched from iStockphoto to Dreamstime - which is excellent value as a subscription. But I still would not describe iStock as an absolute rip-off. Most images would take me half day to draw (+equipment) or half a day to go and take the photo (+travel etc). So $10-$20 for an often better quality image is a howling bargain. Last night I got 10 very good images from Dreamstime for 1/30th of a monthly subscription = $3.5 = 35 cents each = less than a 1st class stamp = a fabulous bargain. I also sent them a technical querry which they answered within the hour. Microsoft, ebay, Google, Paypal and Yahoo do not do this! Getty charge $250 for one image - they are the absolute rippers-off of this business.

Stewart... use that last link. It's good everything you need for FREE. Also, there must be loads of stuff like that if I was able to find one.
