Internet Explorer now only the third most used browser
I took a look at the statistics for this site the other day and noted something interesting: as of October 2010, Internet Explorer (all versions combined) is now only the third most used browser.
Firefox comes in first with 49.4 %, Chrome second with 19 %, and IE is third with 18 %. The trend continues for November.

For comparison, the browser stats for CADTutor for the same period are as follows:
IE = 44.17%
Firefox = 33.25%
Chrome = 15.57%
Safari = 4.07%
Opera = 2.54%
Clearly, statistics will vary wildly from site to site but the trend is definately downward for IE. It remains to be seen whether IE9 can change this.

IE = 43.43%
Firefox = 29.35%
Safari = 12.66% (I think this includes iphone visits)
Chrome = 11.46%
Opera = 1.41%
PS - I got a new Sony Vaio laptop today. It shipped with Chrome as the default browser. IE is not even installed.
