Is Personal Computer World losing the plot? The computer news seemed dull so I turned to their review of a Canon Ixus. Blow me: they are reviewing the 3.2 Mg version when even the model which superseded it (4 Mg) has been withdrawn from sale in favour of the 5 Mg version!

That's why I don't buy computer mags - they're always out of date compared with the online material. Although, I did just buy a copy of MacUser to see what I'm getting into, but that was the first mag I've bought in the last year+.

They talk about the difference between 'leaning forward' (the computer experience) and 'leaning back' (the TV experience - more relaxing). But the really important relaxation experience is 'legs curled up with a mag'. Much better than Prozac.

I'm on the verge of subscribing to .net magazine - of course all the news can be seen online weeks earlier, but that's no problem for me because I really can't be doing with looking at a computer screen for absolutely everything.

It is unhealthy looking at a screen for everything, it is not relaxing and I think working on the computer into the evening contributes to my occasional insomnia.

I agree with Tom - switching the damn machine off, making a cup of tea and relaxing with a magazine is rather enjoyable. More sociable too.
