Thread: Ifttt

    Default Ifttt

IFTTT = If This Then That. It's basically an enormous if statement connecting lots of different sites together. Loads and load of possibilities. I really like the recipes section - it's essentially a collection of user-generated presets.

edited to add: infinite loops are possible.

Looks like it could be really useful.

The way they introduce the concept is slightly confusing when you first come to the site though. If they just put the list of 'recipes' on the first page you'd get the idea straight away.

Or maybe use their statement diagram so you get their name/concept, but insert scrolling alternatives for what things you can actually do, so you understand why you're interested before they start defining all their terms to you.

Yes, I'm much more into their service than I am their website :-) Their home page is no better than a splash page and I think they've got a bit carried away with how clever they are.

I like that idea. They should have done that.

I'm going to create a new Gmail account and an infinite loop and see how long it takes to completely fill it (or get every email blocked as spam. Not sure how that would work if all the emails are coming from the same account they're being sent to).
